The National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC) provides free or low-cost legal help to immigrants, including minors, and their sponsors. They assist with asylum for people fearing persecution in their home countries, T Visas for victims of human trafficking, and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) for minors who have been abused, neglected, or abandoned by one or both parents. NIJC also helps with adjustment of status to apply for lawful permanent residence, naturalization assistance for those applying for U.S. citizenship, and deportation defense for individuals facing removal from the U.S. Services are available to low-income individuals and families, typically those at or below 200% of the federal poverty line. Specific eligibility criteria may vary depending on the service

States served: Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin.
