Legal Assistance and Other Support Services

Commonwealth Catholic Charities offers immigration legal services including citizenship, family petitions, green cards, TPS, asylum, VAWA, U visas, trafficking cases, waivers, and refugee/asylee support.

The organization also provides refugee resettlement services such as housing placement, rental assistance, school enrollment, employment support, English classes, and case management.

Additional services may include financial assistance, interpretation, health referrals, and youth services for eligible refugees, asylees, trafficking survivors, and other humanitarian entrants.

Commonwealth Catholic Charities does not focus on removal defense. 

Office locations: Hopewell, Newport News, Norton, Richmond, and Roanoke.

The organization also operates food pantries in Richmond and Roanoke.

• The Dibert Food Pantry in Richmond provides food distribution Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
• The St. Francis House Food Pantry in Roanoke provides food assistance Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
