The New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) provides free civil legal services and advocacy for immigrants, survivors of violence, and people experiencing poverty or crisis.
Its Immigrant Protection Unit represents clients in asylum, family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, citizenship, and removal defense, including detained cases.
NYLAG also assists survivors of intimate partner violence and human trafficking, LGBTQ immigrants, and children in family or immigration proceedings.
Services include safety planning, protection orders, and legal workshops.
NYLAG attorneys work in community sites, hospitals, and schools across New York City.
