The Central American Refugee Center (CARECEN) provides free and low-cost immigration legal services and community programs across Long Island.
Attorneys and paralegals assist with asylum, naturalization, DACA, TPS, work permits, and other immigration cases.
CARECEN also conducts administrative advocacy with CIS, ICE, and CBP, offers &ldquo;Know Your Rights&rdquo; presentations and Legal Orientation Programs, and provides ESL and citizenship/civics classes.
Through DOJ and OVC-funded initiatives, the organization supports trafficking survivors and refers clients to other community resources.
Services are available in English and Spanish at CARECEN&rsquo;s <a href="https://www.importami.org/en-us/services/4090" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hempstead</a> and <a href="https://www.importami.org/en-us/services/4089" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Brentwood</a> offices.
